Alyssa's Diner at Intramuros

Alyssa's Diner is located at 314 Beaterio cor . I would say that this is the most famous foodie spot in Intramuros up until now. It's just the usual canteen type that offers food that caters employees and students in Intramuros.

For just Php 70.00 you can enjoy sisig with rice, plus 1 free extra rice and a soda. Man, that's too much already! Affordable and super sulit!

Where to eat in Binondo?

Binondo is Manila's Chinatown, established in the 1594 and the oldest Chinatown in the world. It is the center of commerce and trade of Manila (now and then), where all types of business run by Filipino-Chinese. My interest with the culture was strengthened because of having a Filipino-Chinese boyfriend. Also, I spent few months going to here back and forth when I quit my first job and decided to work on my business.

One of the good things I like about these restaurants (aside from the authenticity of the food) is that they have the same price range which ranges from Php 60.00 to Php 300+.

So, Let me share with you my favorite Restaurants in Binondo

Masuki Mami House
931 Benavidez St., Binondo, Manila
Contact No: (02) 244-0745 / (02) 243-2674 / (02) 244-0737 / (02) 502-2300

Masuki has limited selection of what the food that they are serving. It's noodles, Siomai and Siopao.

Ying Ying Tea House
233-235 Dasmarinas St cor Yuchengo St
Binondo, Manila
Contact No: (02) 710-3856

No one notices when you enter and when you go out. You have to approach the staff to ask for the menu or what so ever for few times before you caught their attention. It's like you need to beg them to take your order or requesting for something. And when your food comes in, it is placed in a very dirty plate or bowl. I used to think maybe they are just busy today because it's Friday or Saturday or Sunday. But I don't think so. Been here during week days and not so critical hours but I haven't seen any difference at all. But - their food is really good.

Lan Zhou La Mien
1354 Benavidez St, Binondo, Manila

As you can see, im not a fan of noodles. I'd always go for Dumplings fried or steamed. Dimsum is love! They have tons of noodles and main dish variety however with dumplings this is the only that they have.

Tasty Dumplings
620 Ongpin Street, Binondo, Manila, Metro Manila
Contact No: (02) 450 4880

Again, as you can see im eating Kuchay dumplings again while my boyfriend is eating the big and famous Porkchop Rice.

Sincerity Cafe and Restaurant
497 Yuchengco St., Binondo Manila
Contact No: 241-9991, 241-9990

Ling Nam
Binondo 831 Juan Luna St.
Divisoria, Manila

What I like about Ling Nam is that they let you choose what type of noodles you can get under one variety. For example, For Wanton you have the option to choose from Mien or Hofan. Mien is the one top, thin and the usual. While the Hofan is the one at the bottom part. It can be compared to Fettucini however Hofan is still bigger when talking about width.

LGA Estero Fast Food
Brgy. 297 Binondo Manila

At first people would think "Ay estero, hindi masarap diyan!" Well in fact, they're the ones who serves one of the best and pricey (because of serving exotic and seafoods) in Binondo. Love that they serve meals that's good for 2-3 or 4-5 pax. Perfect for barkada and families!

Must Try: Frog Legs :)

Wan Chai
918 Benavidez Street
Binondo Manila

Noodles Everyday
G/F Liberty Hall, 826 Benavidez St.,
Binondo, Manila

Wai Ying
Benavidez St, Binondo Manila
Contact No: (02) 254 3326

And lastly.. my favorite! Wai Ying! Basically they have the same taste but what I like about Wai Ying is they have wide range of selections from Appetizers, Main Dish, Dessert and even drinks! Name any chinese cuisine you want to eat cause for sure they have it!

Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe

G/F Unit 14. Tropical Palms CondominumDela Rosa St. cor. Perea St., Legaspi Village, Makati CityTel: 840-4299 or 894-3598

Chicken Alexander. Chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce topped with fluffy mashed potatoes and sweet corn.

Chicken Spinach Lasagna. Homemade spinach pasta layered with chicken, tomato, and cream sauce.

American Apple Pie

Mini Sansrival

My best friend forced me to try Mom and Tina's which is just few steps from our office. It's A nice place to hang out with family and friends. The ambiance is too relaxing but the place is a bit small. Food is good however I think they need to work on quantity cause it doesn't complement with the price. I was still hungry even after eating a meal plus dessert. Love how they serve home cooked meals and fresh-from-the-oven pastries and baked goodies.

Jipangyi Seoul Cane Ice Cream

Jipangyi serves soft serve ice cream store offering freshly made cones out of corn that is shaped letter J. Pretty cool huh. And what's so special about the cone aside from it's unique shape? Since the cone is made out of corns that's why it's a lot healthier compared to other stores. Now, they also offer various flavors and can also be eaten with different toppings.

FYI! They're also open for franchise!

How to be rich

First job? Congratulations and welcome to the real world. Remember that the money you are earning right now is also the money that you will need for your future. Read on and learn new tricks on your way to being richie rich.

1. SAVE UP
I have this habit of saving atleast Php 1,000.00-2,000.00 every payday. That makes Php 2,000.00 to Php 4,000.00 a month. Not bad! When I was also in College I divide my daily allowance into two. I use the other half and I keep the other half at home. The company that im working right now conducted a Retirement Program seminar months ago. The speaker mentioned that at the age of 25, you should set aside Php 1,000.00 every month and when you reach the age of 60 years old for sure you’ll have all the money that you need for medication and etc.

2. SET GOALS
List down all the things that you want to buy and the places that you’d like to visit so you’ll be motivated. Look at that list everyday before you go work to remind yourself why you need to work hard and to save more money.

3. LIVE WELL WITHIN YOUR MEANS
Don’t go broke trying to look rich my friend. You don’t have to buy the things to impress others especially those people you don’t like. You should know your limit or else you will end up suffering. Don’t buy the things that you don’t want, don’t buy the things that you don’t need and do not buy things that doesn’t fit your budget. If there’s something you want to purchase but can’t afford now, wait and work until you do.

4. BE FRUGAL
Instead of eating outside during your lunch break why not bring your own baon? It will make you save up to Php 150.00 a day x 5 working days = Php 750.00 a week. Go for a long walk, refrain from long good nights and do everything that will make you stay away from spending too much.

5. GET AN INSPIRATION
Aside from your future wife or husband, you should always make it a point to help your family financially. Keep in mind that you are striving hard to repay your parents for the effort and financial support they have given since you started going to school.

6. INVEST
One great way to save is by getting a savings account that will make your money accumulate annually.

7. DO BUSINESS
Take risks, invest and don’t let money sleep in your wallet.

8. DEVELOP GOOD HABITS
Wake up early, be an early bird at work, time management, keep learning and stay hungry.

9. SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS
He who gives to the poor, lends to the Lord and HE will reward him for what he has done (Proverbs 19:17)

10. BE HUMBLE
Humility will always be the key to success. You don’t need to brag about what you are and what you have. Like what the bible says “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble”.
